MOTOR-CAR OVERTURNS
ACCIDENT ON BEACH 10-MILE WALK FOR HELP Press Association DARGAVILLE, Today. On Sunday afternoon a car driven by Mr. Peter Dank?*, who had as his passengers Messrs. N. Carson, J. Johnson, and W. Tidey, was returning along: the West Coast beach from Mangonui Bluff when it ran into a ledge of rocks, and turned over. Carson suffered severe injuries to his head and nose, necessitating the insertion of several stitches. The others escaped with minor bruises and cuts. Members of the party walked 10 miles along the beach for assistance, and did not reach Dargaville until a late hour, when Carson’s injuries were attended to by a doctor. He is nowprogressing satisfactorily. A breakdown car proceeded to the spot this morning to salvage the car, which had been left on its wheels! \N hen found, it had been turned over b.v the tide. The car, a valuable one, used in taxi work, was towed into town in a badly damaged condition.
