WEEK-END ACCIDENTS

SEVERAL PEDESTRIANS HURT Motor-car and motor-cycle accidents during the week-end resulted in several persons being treated at the Auckland Hospital. None of the cases is considered serious. Mrs. Martha Lyons, of 2 Harold Street, Mount Eden, was knocked doAvn by a motor-car when she was crossing the road at the intersection of Ranfurly Road and Manukau Road at 6.45 p.m. yesterday. She received head injuries and was in a fairly serious condition last night, but had improved satisfactorily today. While crossing from a tramcar to the footpath at the corner of Owens Road and Manukau Road, Epsom, Mr. Joseph Goss, aged 37, of Hobson Street, was struck by a. motor-cycle ridden by Mr. Raymond Court, of Ponsonby. Both men received abrasions, and Mr. Goss suffered a fraction of the left arm. He was taken to hospital, but Mr. Court was able to go home after receiving medical attention. As the result of a collision between the motor-cycle lie was riding and a motor-car at the intersection of Beach Road and Anzac Avenue, George Shaw, aged 17, of 14 Ashton Road, Mount Eden, received concussion, and was admitted to the Auckland Hospital at midday on Saturday. He is progressing satisfactorily Victor Gordon, aged 15, -of 27 Finch Street, Morningside, was knocked down by a motor-car on Great North Road, near Surrey Crescent, at 11 o’clock on Saturday night, while he was riding his bicycle. He was taken to the hospital by the St. John Ambulance. He was suffering from concussion and head injuries. His condition is not serious
