THE Wellington Club’s racing carnival concluded today in tine weather. There tvas a good attendance to witness interesting sport on a heavy track. In the earlier events outsiders prevailed to the chagrin of backers. Daylight won the opening event from the favourite, .Make Up, and backers were again well astray in the Crofton Handicap, when The Sun, who has been racing consistently without gaining a place, scored. King’s Jest, favourite for the big hurdles, was beaten into third berth by Carinthia and Fine Acre.

Gowanlea drew out. and then Rosshire challenged, but failed by a head to catch the leader. Jayson was two lengths away third, and Johneen, Craigavon. Prince Desmond and Intruder followed in a bunch.
