MENTAL TREATMENT
OLD AND NEW METHODS An illustrated lecture on the subject or “Mental Hospitals. Past and Present,” was delivered by Dr, H. M. Buchanan, superintendent of the Auckland Mental Hospital, under the auspices of the Workers' Educational Association, last evening. Many excellent lantern slides were shown to illustrate the older and modern methods of caring for the mentally afflicted, and the buildings used as mental hospitals. The splendid clinical work performed in connection with present-day mental hospitals was highly praised by Dr. Buchanan.
