FANCY DRESS BALL
WAITAKERE SCHOOL FUNDS To obtain funds for the improvement of the Waitakere School grounds, a fancy drese ball was held in the Waitakere Hall last evening by the schcol committee. The attendance was excellent, the hall being well filled with a happy crowd, wearing gay costumes, some of which were most original. The old-world dances performed by the children were exceptionally well done and the Maypole dance was a credit to the children and the teachers. Prizes* were awarded as follow.— Comical, Master Martinovich (nigger>. 1; Master Leslie Kent (absent-minded boy). 2. Hired costume. Master Fred Lea (major>. 1: Miss Jean Hunt - (Miss Old World), 1.
