MEN AT OTAHUHU SHOPS M.P.’S PLEA SUCCEEDS Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P., haa been successful in keeping in work 53 men who had been given notice of dismissal from the Otahuhu railway workshops. These workers had received notice to cease work yesterday, and Mr. Jordan approached the Minister of Railways shortly after the notice was given. The men were the subject of ?. further telegram, this time to the general manager of railways, and since yesterday instructions have been given that the men affected are to continue at the workshops until further notice. As the men finished work last evening, many of them are not aware of the decision of the department, but are to be notified to return to work at once.
