An interesting exhibit at the recent Chelsea Flower Show, London, was the “Nepenthe,” or pilcher plant. It devours insects by means of a pendulous cup with jaws at the end of long green tendrils. In the bottom of the cup is a sweet, sickly substanes. Insects make their way into this and find themselves trapped, the plant afterward feeding on them.
