CHANGES TO BE MADE ON MONDAY
f MEASURE OF JECONOMY
Following the-announcemont by the Minister of Railways, the Hon. AV. A. A’eitch, of a curtailed passenger train timetable as a measure of economy, changes affecting Auckland will be made on Monday.
The Trunk Daylight Limited expresses will cease to run. However, a. train on the same schedule as the north-bound Daylight Limited will 3eave Frankton for Auckland each evening, Sundays excepted. The present week-day AucklandOpua express wiTi run as far as AVhangarei daily, and to Opua on Tuesdays, and Saturdays only. The south-bound express will leave Opua on Mondays, AVednesdays and Fridays only, and start from Wliangarei only on the other days. A number of changes In the local train services between AVhangarei and Opua and between Okaihau and Otiria are also made.
The week-day Auckland-Taneatua express will run as far as Tauranga daily, and to Taneatua on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The express for Auckland will leave Taneatua on Mondays. Wednesdays and Fridays, and will start from Tauranga on the other days. The running of local trains between Tauranga and Taneatua will also be altered. The department is taking the opportunity to make changes in respect of various suburban and other trains. On and after tomorrow all concession fares for Sunday journeys on suburban lines will be cancelled and the full ordinary fares charged. Concession fare tickets issued up to an including Today will be available for use on Sundays until their expiry dates.
