Merry Evening at Dixieland MANY DANCERS ATTEND Decorated with clusters ol autumn leaves and hanging baskets of fern through which shone shaded Japanese lanterns, Dixie land made a gay setting for the an nual dance held by the Akarana Golf Club last evening. Excellent dance music was played by the Dixieland Orchestra, and Miss Bettina Edwards and Mr. Crawford Norris gave an exhibition dance. AMONG THOSE PRESENT Mrs. A. Sinclair wore a frock of apple green,moire taffeta. chiton velvet. Ur ° Wr ' I,ad on flame moU ' 6 Airs. Millerton was wearing a gown of capucine georgette and lace. Mrs. McLean was gowned in black silk lace over satin. Mrs. Goodwin chose a gown of ivorylace. Airs. Rawiinson wore forest green georgette over deep rose taffeta. Mrs. F. Parker was gowned in gold lace over sunglow taffeta. Mrs. E. J. Alilier was in a pretty frock of blue floral ninon. Airs. Charles Smith had on a gown of red and white embossed ring velvet with a coatee to tone edged with fur. Airs. G. Al. Dawson was in bronze lace. Mrs. Simmonda wore u frock of tunglow taffeta. Airs F. Preston had chosen a frock of rose • georgette and silver lace. Mrs B. Kissen was gowned in green and primrose floral ninon. Mrs. Trask wore a handsome gown of gold and floral metal cloth. Mrs. Percy Free’s gown waa of lettuce green moire velvet. Mrs. A. Tysoe was wearing a frock of black Spanish lace. Airs C. 11. Halford had on flora) brocade ami black tulle. Airs. Pezaro was gowned in azura blue flowered taffeta and ninon. Mrs. Kay was wearing mist pink corded taffeta. Mrs. Allan Bishop wore a pretty frock of pink georgette with embossed chenille corsage. Mrs. Percy Le Grice had on a frock of white satin with tiered lace skirt. Mrs. Alec Craig’s frock was of scarlet moire velvet. Mrs. Burtensliaw wore a gown of black patterned ninon with coatee to match. Mrs. England was in a frock of Deach blossom taffeta. ... , Mrs. Kirk had chosen a frock of apricot satin and georgette with shoulder spray of flowers. ... , Mrs. Cohu was frocked in apple green beaded georgette. „ Mrs. Broadley had on a frock of capucine georgette and lace. Gallaugher wore a gown or parchment tiered lace. Mrs. Albert Neville was in a gown of silver lame lace. Mrs D. L. Buchan had on Chinese red satin and geoigette. Miss Helen Jenks wore a frock of moonmist blue net with a gold lame Marjorie Blakey was frocked «n primrose floral taffeta. Miss M. Perham was in sea-foam green taffeta and gold lame coat. Miss M. Miss Barker’s frock was of black taffeta and lace. Aliss Knott chose a dance frock of parchment taffeta. Allss J. Reynolds had on capucine embossed georgette. AJiss Edna Mouat chose a frock of parchment ring vel\*et. Miss Gwen Kendrick was In mist blue taffeta. Allss F. Blackwell’s gown was of pompadour blue georgette and lame. Miss Betty Endean was frocked in eau de nil moire velvet and net frills. Alias Isabel! McGinle.v had chosen a. frock of green floral satin beaute. Miss E. Spinks wore embossed red georgette Atiss J. Atiss Rose Kennedy wore a frock of lacquer red georgette. Atiss Jean Taylor was frocked in black lace over red satin. j Atiss Reina Wilson wore flame taffeta and tulle. Miss Nessie Syraes had on a white lace and tulle frock. A pretty frock of Chinese red georgette was worn by Aliss Melville. Aliss T O’Callaghan was in powder blue georgette and lame. Miss Ruth Gillett was gowned in scarlet lace and georgette. Miss Doreen Harrison’s frock was of jade green georgette. Miss Rona McGregor had on pale pink sprigged taffeta. Aliss Una Callhghan chose a dance frock of ivory ring velvet. Miss Bartram was In ash blue taffeta'. Miss B. Esam’s frock was of white chiffon taffeta appliqued with flowers. Aliss D. Buchan was gowned in Chinese red satin and georgette. Aliss Tyler wore a pretty frock of lilac taffeta. Miss A. Graven had on mauve satin and silver lace. Miss L. Smith wore pale blue flowered net.
