INDUSTRY’S PROBLEMS
ECONOMIC ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETS IN LONDON PROMINENT ECONOMISTS British Official Wireless Reed. 11.55 a.m. RUGBY, Thursday. The Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, presided today over a meeting at his official residence of the Economic Advisory Council which was set up In January to co-ordinate the work of the departments concerned with economic and industrial matters and to advise the Government on trade questions generally. In addition to the leading members of the Government, including the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Mr. Philip Snowden, and the president of the Board of Trade, Mr. William Graham, several distinguished economists and prominent industrialists are members of the Council. The Imperial sub-committee of the Council was appointed some months ago under the chairmanship of a wellknown steel magnate, Sir Arthur Bal four, who Is a member of the Council
