NEW LYNN WEDDING

IVORY GOWN WITH SKIRT OF SILVER LACE GILLARD—CURRIE A wedding of interest to Avondale and New Lynn residents was celebrated in the new St. Andrew’s Hall. New Lynn, on Saturday, June 2S, by the Rev. Mr. Rankin. The bride was Annie (Nan), only (laughter of Mr. and Mrs. Currie, Glendon Avenue, Avondale (late New Lynn), apd she was married to Mr. Fred. Gillard, Rosebank Road, Avondale. The hall was beautifully decorated for the occasion by the St. Andrew’s choir and friends- of the bride, and Mrs. Brown presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her step-father, wore a frock of crepe de chine with overskirt of silver lace. The tulle veil was caught to the head with clusters of orange blossoms at either side. The matron of honour. Mrs. Eric Trigg, wore apricot georgette finished with a hip bow of taffeta, and wore a felt hat to tone. The bridesmaid. Miss Nelson, wore powder blue crepe de chine, and a tulle veil, held in place with silver leaves. The train-bearers were little Miss Gillard and Master Peters. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. Frank Gillard. After the ceremony a. reception was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Avondale. Mrs. Currie received the guests wearing grey ring velvet and white fox fur, with hat to tone. Mrs. Gillard wore a black silk coat and hat to match.
