Miss Dorothy Rawle was in hydrangea blue chiffon and silver lace. Miss. Hilda Potter had on njYnph green faille, with rose hip bow. PENWOMEN’S LEAGUE DRAMATIC SECTION HOLDS FIRST MEETING The first meeting of the year of th ■ dramatic section of the League of New Zealand Penwomen, was held in the club rooms on Tuesday evening. Airs. Arthur Griffiths, convener, presided over a good attendance of members. The evening was opened with a prepared reading of a scene from Henry VIII., the parts being taken by Mrs. Richmond, Airs. Ponder. Aliss Bertram, Aliss Quill and Aliss Spurling. Dr. Alildred Staley and Airs. J. Crisp gave valuable criticism on the reading. “No Followers Permitted,” was the name of the amusing old-fashioned play given by Mrs. Griffiths, Aliss Peacock and Aliss Quill. Other outstanding scenes from Henry VIII. were read under the circle reading system and at the conclusion Airs. Arthur Griffiths gave a finished interpretation of Cardinal Wolsey’s final speech. Among those present were:—Airs. J. Crisp, Airs. Richmond, Airs. Calhoun, Mrs. Ponder. Mrs. Spinloy, Airs. Griffiths, Dr. Mildred Staley, Aliss Quill. Miss 33.
