ORPHEUS, OTAHUHU
“ON WITH THE SHOW” The brilliant colouring and intense Interest of “The Gold Diggers of Broadway” is rivalled in “On With tne «Sliow,” the headliner at the Orpheus Theatre until the end of this week. All the action takes place during the course of a single evening—the opening night. Everything that could possibly happen to spoil that show did happen—the financial backer withdrew his support, the man who owned the scenery demanded it back immediately, there was a box office robbery, all the actors moaned about their arrears of pay, one even refused to go on: but still the show went on. There is no particular star in the cast, but every one of the principals is excellent. The first half of the programme comprises musical shorts that uphold the high standard set by the management in the past. Altogether a brilliant entertainment.
