ENGLISH PEOPLE COLD TO DOMINION STUDENTS LONDON HOUSE SCHEME BEGUN LONDON, Monday. The High Commissioner for New Zealand, Sir Thomas Wilford, was among flic distinguished people who attended an “establishment dinner” at which the Prince of Wales appealed for a fund of £30,000 to establish London House. This is a proposed institution which is to be an international centre for students from the Dominions where they would obtain certain facilities for travel and study while in England. The Prince laid stress upon the necesisty for such an organisation. He pointed out that English people were naturally as kindly and hospitable as any, but said they were apt to hide their kindness beneath an overwhelm ing bushel of reserve. There was a certain ritual, little understood by foreigners, which must he observed before even the outer bounds of companionship were reached.
