ENJOYABLE DANCE AND SOCIAL HELD FOR PLUNKET FUNDS
A most enjoyable and successful dance and social, organised by the Mangateparu women in aid of the Plunket 'Society funds, was held in the Mangateparu Hall, Morrinsville, on Thursday evening. The proceeds of the evening amounted to f G 17s 6d. The dance music was supplied by Mrs. W. M. Kerr, extras being played by Mrs. L. and Mrs. D. Grubb. During the evening songs were given by Mrs. J. Seales, Mrs. A. I. Jones, Mr. F. N. Stringfield, Mr. Jones, Mrs. L. Echlin and some popular sea shanteys were given by the Alorrinsville quartet (Messrs. Echlin, stringfield, Jones and Faulkner). Pole, embossed navy georgette; Mrs. Topham. black satin; Mrs. Brightwell, navy crepe de chine; Mrs. S. Mai*wood, beige marocain; Mrs. J. Boles, black panne velvet; Mrs. Peat, rose pink satin; Mrs. Hammond, printed rose velvet; Mrs. Robison, black lace; Mrs. Flowerday, black sequined frock; Mrs. Mulcahy, navy creep de chine; Mrs. L>. Grubb, jade silk and lace; Mrs. Wild, vieux rose velvet; Mrs. Hutchings, black crepe de chine; Mrs. Haycock, pale pink satin; Mrs. Lehman, apple-green souffle.
