EXECUTIVE DECISIONS The vice-chancellor of the University of New Zealand wrote to th« New Zealand. Society of Accountant in regard to reconsideration of candidates’ examinations papers. tVhe; the question came before a receri executive meeting it was resolved to recommend to the council that candidates for the accountancy examination be granted the privilege of reconsideration. The committee considered draft conditions governing the proposed competition for a thesis on the dairy industry of the Dominion. These conditions were approved. A prize of £IOO and gold medal is being offered for the best thesis on the diary industry of the Dominion dealing principally with the financial aspect The prospectus of a proposed limited liability company in which appeared a certificate from an auditor dealing with the future profits of the company, was before the meeting and it resolved to communicate with th* auditor concerned, calling for his explanation and advising that in the opinion of the executive committee a certificate should be given covering facts only. As future profits were problematical the certificate given was considered unprofessional. The following were admitted to membership :—Messrs. G. W. C. Drake Devon port. T. M. Ferguson and L. W. Leppien, Wellington, and L. C. Nisbei, Dunedin. Messrs. N. L Nielsen. Palmerston North, and J. K. McCahon, Oamaru, were transferred to the status of associate public accountant. M:*. Arthur Marshall, of Wellington, was re-admitted to membership of tht society.
