SYDNEY ARRIVALS
AUSSIE BACK TO AUCKLAND FOR SPELL Two arrivals by the Ulimaroa from Sydney yesterday were the racehorses Aussie and Trevallian, who have been sent to Auckland by their owners in the hope that a few months’ spell in the Dominion will have beneficial results. Aussie is an old favourite on the Auckland turf, for prior to his purchase by Mr. J. Matthews he was owned and trained at Te. Awamutu by G. Paul. In this sportsman’s colours he won many an important race, and few will forget his memorable contest in the liazlett Memorial at Wingatui when he defeated the mighty Limerick. Since going into new ownership Aussie has proved a rank failure, but a return to his old form would soon see him recoup the outlay his present owner has expended on him. Trevalian is a brother to the smart sprinter Fernden, and is representing the Sydney trainer, M. Poison. Trevallian has been a winner in Sydney and will probably make continual progress.
