WOOL PRICES EASIER LONDON SALES OPEN Reed. 10.40 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. At the wool sales 9,056 bales were offered, including 2,288 from New Zealand. Approximately 3,660 bales were sold. There was an inferior miscellaneous selection, largely of second-hand lots, and a crowded attendance. The tone was somewhat depressed. Biding was cautious. Prices compared with May closing rates. Merinos, super, were firm and unchanged, good average combings were five per cent, easier, faulty 7i per cent., crossbreds and greasy per cent., slipes and halfbreds, 10 per'cent., other sorts 7i per cent. Lambs, shorn and carbonising sorts, were neglected and were 5 to 7h per cent, easier. New Zealand greasy crossbred sold: “CET,'' lOd, average, 91d. PRICES FOR METALS LONDON, Tuesday. Electrolytic Copper.—Spot. £54 10s (£54 10s); three months, £56 10s (£56 10s). Wire Bars. — £56 10s (£56 10s). Lead. —Spot, £lB (£l7 16s lOd); three months, £l7 17s 6d (£l7 15s). Spelter.—Spot, £ls 18s 9d (£ls 15s): three months, £l6 12s 6d (£l6 7s 6d). Tin.—Spot, £135 Is 3d (£136 18s 9d); three months, £136 17s 6d (£l3B 17s 6d).
Silver. —Standard, 15 7-8 d (15 5-8 d) an ounce; fine, 17 l-8d (16 7-8 d).
