AFTER THIRTY YEARS

SEA CAPTAIN’S RETURN SHIP ON MAIDEN VOYAGE After 30 years' absence, an interesting personality, Captain J. H. Bruton, arrived at Auckland in command of the steamer Dalfram last evening. The vessel, a new one, is on her maiden voyage from Cuba and carries a large consignment of sugar. The last time Captain Bruton visited these shores lie was in command of the well-known wool-clipper Peri, which operated between London and South Island ports. A fine trip was experienced by the Dalfram, Lund in crossing the Equator all the ceremonies pertaining to the occasion were observed by the crew. The vessel, which is carrying a cargo of sugar, will proceed from Auckland to Westport on July 18.
