AMALGAMATION PROJECT

THE amalgamation scheme of the Auckland and Otahuhu Trotting Clubs will be considered tomorrow by the delegates assembled at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Conference. It is not expected there will be any objection to the proposal in its general sense, but from what can be gleaned of the attitude of several clubs on the situation, the question of representation and number of racing days will create spirited discussion. It is argued in many quarters that amalgamation will mean one club only for Auckland, consequently it will be entitled to only one delegate. If Auckland and Otahuhu Clubs are prepared to concede this point there is every chance of the proposal going through.
