ST. HELIERS BUSES
FEWER TRIPS DAILY EFFECT OF TRAMWAYS Owing to completion of the RemueraMeadowbank tram extension, L. J. Keys, Limited, which operates the St. Heliers-Kohimaramu-City bus service, finds that it has lost a number of passengers formerly carried on the section now served by trams. Mr. Keys made application to tho Transport Board this morning for amendment to his time-table. He said that tho revised time-table provided for a reduction of about 15 per cent, fewer trips than at present on week days, but there would be only two trips fewer on Sundays. This would still bo ample to provide a frequent service both to St. lleliers and to Kohi. On tho motion of tlie chairman, Mr. J. A. C. Alluni, the board agreed to tho amended service. Mr. A. J. Entrican suggested that Mr. Keys be invited to institute a feeder service to the trams. Mr. Keys said this was unnecessary. Practically no reduction in service would tako place during the slack periods of the day, the reduction being made at other times. When the waterfront road was opened for traffic, the whole question of time-tables would have to be reviewed.
