VALUABLE FORECASTS
LECTURE BY MR. FIELD To the general public, Mr. F. It. Field is known for his forecasts of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and the weather. He predicted, for instance, the day upon which Falcon Island rose out of the sea in October, 1027. Recognising the importance of such work and realising that help was needed to bring it to fruition, many influential Auckland men have formed the “F. R Field Scientific Research Society," which has arranged for Mr. Field to deliver a. series of lectures, the first of which will be given in the Town Hall concert chamber on Tuesday evening. Tho admission will be free, but there will be a collection• to defray expenses.
