CHURCH IS BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED FOR CEREMONY GROVE—HOCKLY A wedding of great Interest to a wide circle of friends was celebrated on Wednesday at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Pukuatua Street, Rotorua, when Catherine Leslie, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. F. Hockly, of Auckland, was married to Francis Montgomery, second son of Mrs. Grove, of Fenton Street, Rotorua. Tho Rev. A. C. Randerson was the officiating clergyman, and Mr. R. S. Miller presided at the organ. The church had been beautifully decorated by girl friends of the bride, with large bowls of arum lilies, pink cyclamens and primula, and suspended round the walls were sprays of snowborries and foliage, and over j the bridal party was a beautiful arch composed of heather and pale pink flowers. Entering the church on tho arm of ( her father, the bride wore a gown of . briar rose pink satin beaute, fashioned , with tight-fltting sleeves trimmed with j pearls and a close-fitting bodice, the | vandyked yoke of which was embroid- i ered with a true lovers’ knot of seed I pearls, the corsage being inset at the sides with rucked georgette, from which fell an ankle-length skirt, with un- | even hemline, and inset at the sides with tiny rows of frilled georgette and small panniers of satin, and finished . at the back of the waistline with a | bow of satin caught with a pearl or- j nament. Her veil of pale pink tulle < was arranged on a coronet of orange j blossoms, and fell in graceful folds lo ] form a train, the end of which was ! weighted with a large silver bow. She carried an exquisite shower bouquet of j pink hydrangeas, pink luculia, and j maidenhair fern, with pink satin and tull© streamers. The bride was attended by two maids. The chief maid was Miss Jean j Hockly, sister of the bride, wearing a i dainty frock of delphinium blue geor- . gette, with tight-fitting sleeves and tight bodice, from which fell a grace- , ful ankle-length skirt, the liem of ; which was scalloped with silver lace, ; each scallop being trimmed with a tiny I posy of silver lace and peach and blue I rosebuds, and finished at the back of ' the waistline with a butterfly bow of j georgette. Her hat was of blue felt, • trimmed with blue velvet ribbon, and ; caught up on on© side with a dia- I mente buckle. She carried a bouquet of pink and blue hydrangeas and : maidenhair fern, with blue satin j streamers. Miss Ethel McGregor (Hastings) was the second maid, and wore a frock of peach georgette, with tight-fitting bodice, from which fell a full-draped skirt, dipping at the sides, and trimmed with tiny posies of silver lace and peach rosebuds. Her hat was uf peach felt, trimmed with velvet ribbon, and caught upon one side with a diamente buckle. She carried a bouquet of pink j carnations, pink hydrangeas, and j maidenhair fern, with pink satin ; streamers. The duties of best man were car- | ried out by Mr. A. ltee3-George, and Mr. P. Hockly (Wairarapa), brother j of the bride, acted as groomsman. RECEPTION AT KIOSK. After the ceremony a reception was , held at the kiosk. Government Gardens, which had been decorated with violets, gerberas, and spring flowers, j A large wedding bell was suspended j over the bride’s table. To receive her guests. Mrs. Hockly i wore a gown of black embossed geor- j gette, with vandyked yoke inset with j gold lace, and a moire fur-trimmed | coat, with black chiffon velvet hat, re- ! lieved with oriental trimmings, and ; she carried a posy of dutumn-tinted j flowers and maidenhair fern.

Mrs. Grove, mother of the bridegroom, wore black georgette and lace, with transparent hem of tulle, and black hat, and tailored coat with fur trimmings. Her posy was of mauve violas and maidenhair fern. The bride travelled in a smart brown .ensemble, with brown hat to match, and fox furs. Among tho guests present were: Air. and Mrs. Kirk, Miss Gunn.
