A HOODOO, TOO?
( 'HRISTCHURCH is New Zealand's football graveyard, her Rugby Waterloo, and whatever other picturesque metaphors you like to conjure up about it The record book tells the sad story. Prior to the Dunedin defeat, New Zealand liad lost only five Tests on her own soil, and four of these were lost at Christchurch. Three of them were against New South Wales, in 1896, in 1921 and in 1928, and the other was against Australia in 1913. In at least two cases New Zealand was represented by a second-best team, the first fifteen being otherwise engaged at the moment. Here’s hoping that the All Blacks will break the hoodoo on the Christchurch ground tomorrow!
