ARAPUNI INQUIRY

ROYAL COMMISSION WANTED

“FAIREST THING FOR ALL” THE SUN'S Parliamentary Reporter PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Tiiurs. Hope that a Royal Commission would be set up to inquire into the Arapuni scheme was expressed by Mr. A. M. Samuel (Reform —Thames), during the Address-in-Reply debate this evening, lie congratulated the Leader of the Opposition, the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, on his expressed desire for a commission. The position was very serious and the country was anxious about the •whole problem, said Mr. Samuel. It would take the finding of a Royal Commission, where it would not take the pronouncements of the Government. It would remove the whole question from the bounds of political influence and would be the fairest thing to all concerned, particularly to the engineers.
