OAMARU FIXTURE

GOOD FIELDS TO LINE UP TOMORROW A BRIEF REVIEW By EARLY BIRD. Fields are above the average at the winter meeting tomorrow of the Oamaru Jockey Club, and consequently there should be some very interesting racing. Probably more than passing interest will be taken in just how jockey A. E. Ellis fares in his various races, for while his chief opponent in the race for the riding premiership, H. Gray, will be resting. Ellis will have several rides at Oamaru. At present. Gray leads the Southerner by three points. Tomorrow’s card of seven races is a mixed one—four flat contests, one steeplechase and two trots. The principal race is the President's Handicap, run over a mile and a-quarter, with nine acceptors. Taboo, Starshooter, Caiuisader and Glenrowan represent good Southern handicap form, and between this quartet it should be a good event to see. This is the only open race on the card. The following horses will come in for extensive support in their engagements:— Hack and Hunters’ Steeples TUNAMOB FRENCH FLEET Novice Stakes RED ROYAL ROSEWOOD Oamaru Trot LOOALL*: EAGRE AT de ORO President's Handicap GLEN ROWAN S TARSHOOTEII High-weight Handicap RASCAL MEMBO Waikaura Trot GR EA T ABD ULLAH JOHN APPEAR Farewell Handicap FAIR MONEY KENTISH LADY !
