FRIENDLY SOCIETIES
INDCOR SPORTS ASSOCIATION AT OTAHUHU At a recent meeting, convened by the Otahuhu branch of the Ancient Order of Foresters, and attended by delegates from sister lodges, it was decided to form on indoor sports association, with the object of fostering fraternity among the various friendly societies of Otahuhu. Mr. Ken Lippiatt was elected president for the first term, and he is ably supported by an enthusiastic executive, consisting of two delegates from each affiliated lodge. The first competition of the series was held in the Orphans* Hall recently, when an indoor bowling tournament was promoted. Six lodges entered a rink and the enthusiasm augurs well Cor the success of future competitions The team representing the R.A.0.8., Skippe dby Mr. K. Lippiatt. won the. competition, with four wins and one draw. Arrangements Are now in hand to procure a cup or shield for competition. and the first match for it will be a table tennis tourney, to be held in the Orphans’ Hall on Monday evening. It is intended that quoits, indoor bowling and 500 competitions will follow.
