LEAGUE TEAM RECEIVED
CIVIC GREETING AT SYDNEY SYDNEY, Wednesday. In extending a welcome to the New Zealand League footballers today, the Lord Mayor of Sydney, Mr. E. S. whose first official function is was since his appointment, said that, although for 39 years he had been connected | with the Rugby Union game, he recognised that all forms of sport had a place and were of benefit in the community. He was proud to honour the New Zealanders and wished them all success. Mr. H. Flegg, president of the New South Wales League, said the interchange of visits between the two coun- ; tries promoted valuable goodwill. The manager, Mr. Ferguson, acknowledged the speeches. He said the two ' i bodies worked harmoniously in New 5 j Zealand. The team then gave a thrilli ing haka. > The team trained at Marrickville this afternoon.
