Cruickshank, for nine years sergeant of police at Onehunga ■ laims in a petition presented to the House today that a great injustice has been clone to him. He joined the force in 1898 and retired in February of last year, after over 31 years’ service. At retirement he was informed that • •wing to legislation changes, he was not entitled to an allowance. Peti'ioner submitted that such a positior was never intended, and he therefore grayed either for an annual allowance or a single grant to place him in the same position as other civil servant.who had honourably served the Dominion.
