BEEF MARKET EASIER

WESTFIELD STOCK SALE # WKSTFIRLD, 2.30 p.m. Beef met with a steady demand at Westfield'today, but the market generally had a slightly easier tone, and big cattle, especially, sold at slightly lower prices. Extra choice ox made up to 37s a hundred; good quality medium-weight ox beef, generally, averaged 33s to 30s a hundred. Good young cow averaged to 31s, extra choice Jots occasionally making up to 33s a hundred.' The offering of fat cattle totalled (12;! head, .03 of which were steers drawn iron] over a comparatively wide range. 1 ho quality was nut quite up to tile usual standard, and there were no lines of extra choice heavy-weight cattle forward. Medium-weight steers predominated. Exporters t....U little interest in the sale, bidding only very occasionally on pens of light-weight cattle.
