100 METRES EVENT DONE IN 10 1-5 SECONDS GIRL’S FAST 50 YARDS Reed. 11.40 a.m. VANCOUVER, Tues. Eddie Tolan, of Michigan, won the 100 metres* at the international track field meet here today, setting a world’s record of 10 l-ssec. George Simpson, of Ohio, was second, and Percy Williams, of Vancouver, was third. Miss Lillian Palmer, a 17-year-old Vancouver girl, set a world’s record of 5 -l-ssec in the women’s 50 yards.
