“DANGEROUS MAN”
DETECTIVE’S PROPHECY CO MLS TRUE GAOL FOR THREE MONTHS “He will be back again next week,” said Chief-Detective Hammond, in the Police Court on Saturday, when Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., gave Ganesh Givan a chance, ordering him to come up for sentence when called upon. Givan appeared again this morning and was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment. Described as a hawker, aged 29, Givan appeared lor sentence on the charge of which he was convicted on Saturday. He had admitted being found without excuse on the enclosed premises of a house in Nelson Street. The chief-detective said a condition of Givan being given a chance was that he went to the Salvation Army Home until a boat could be found for him. He stayed at the home only a day and a-half and then left, to be found drinking about the town. He was a dangerous man. and his countrymen would have nothing to do with him. “He is lazy; that’s his trouble,” added the chief-detective. Givan was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment.
