DAMAGED SPEED-BOAT
MISS ENGLAND 11. RAISED FROM LAKE BOTTOM SEGRAVE’S WATCH FOUND British Official Wireless RUGBY, Sunday. Miss England 11., the speed-boat in which Sir Henry Segrave lost his life after breaking the world’s record on June 13, was raised to the surface of Lake Windermere yesterday and towed close to the shore. Between two barges it was taken in tow to a dock at Bowness Bay where is will be examined by experts. When the water was pumped out of the boat the first thing found by Mr. 'Villcocks, the engineer who survived the disaster, was Sir Henry’s stop"’utuh, which was lying at the bottom of the cockpit. Part of the step or bilge keel at the stern was found to have been torn away. The steering column and propeller were intact. Since the day of the tragedy the boat had been resting ?? the bottom of the lake beneath H-ft of water on a level keel.
