Advice has been received that Nurse E. I. Robbie, of Taumarunui, has been appointed to take charge of the new dental clinic at Hamilton East. The building lias been completed, and after the installation of fittings is expected to be ready for a week or two. In the absence of the Bishop, Archdeacon G. G. Bell. Vicar-General, will preside at the session of the Waikato Diocesan Synod opening at Hamilton next. Monday. The chief legislative business will concern the revision of statutes, and the election of officers and consideration of financial statements of various diocesan organisations M bile playing- hockey against Ngaruawahia at Matangi on Saturday. Miss Ruby Shaw, goalkeeper for Matangi was struck on the head by a ball. She continued to play but later complained of pains in the head and was removed to the Waikato Hospital in a semiconscious condition. Yesterday she had improved slightly. The formation of a boys’ band at Hamilton is one of the ambitions of Mr. A. E. Savage, the new conductor of tho Hamilton Municipal Band. All boys interested have been incited to attend a meeting shortly. The death has occurred in Nairobi, East Africa, of Mr. Richard Webb, for many years a former resident of Hamilton. where he was engaged in the hardware trade.
