KENT DELAYED.—The Federal Company advises that the loading of the Kent has been delayed at Bluff, and she is now expected to leave today for Port Chalmers, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wanganui and Wellington to complete. THE KARTIGI. —To complete discharge of her cargo from Adelaide, Melbourne, and Devonport (.Tasmania), the LTnion Company’s Kartigi is to clear New Plymouth today for Auckland. She should arrive here on Thursday. NAVIGATION WARNING. —The Secretary of the Post and Telegraph Office, Wellington, has received the following navigation warning broadcast by Thursday Island at 1.50 a.m. on Sunday:— “Chapman Island light reported extinguished.” KING JOHN SAILS TOMORROW.— Henderson and Macfarlane, Ltd., advises that the motor-ship King John, which is at present at King’s Wharf unloading the local part of her cargo of phosphates from Ocean Island, is to sail at 5 p.m. tomorrow for Wanganui to put out the remainder. MAKURA AT WELLINGTON.—The Royal Mail liner Makura reached Wellington from San Francisco, via Papeete and Rarotonga, at mid-day yesterday. She experienced stormy weather when nearing Nejv Zealand, and her arrival was delayed by five hours. Passengers and letter mail for the North reached Auckland by train this morning. The vessel is to resume her voyage to Sydney at 19 o’clock tonight. ARGYLLSHIRE FROM LIVERPOOL.— An arrival in port last evening was the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Argyllshire with a cargo of general merchandise from West Coast United Kingdom ports. The vessel remained at anchor in the stream until this morn»ng, when she berthed at Queen’s Wharf to discharge the local consignment of her cargo. The Argyllshire cleared Liverpool for Auckland on May 24, and left Balboa, on June 9. A week after leaving Balboa an Indian trimmer died and was buried at sea. The vessel enjoyed a fair weather voyage with the exception of the last three days, when stormy southerly conditions were met with, on the occasion of the Argyllshire’s last visit to New Zealand she was owned by the Scottish Shire Line, and was purchased at that time by the New Zealand Steamship Company. It is hoped to dispatch her on Thursday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and New Plymouth to complete discharge. Captain W. J.
