BOWLING CONTROL

ANNUAL MEETING OF AUCKLAND CENTRE DECISIONS OF DELEGATES There was a large attendance oi delegates at tho annual meeting of tin Auckland Bowling Centre last .evening Mr. S. Coldicutt presided. Mr. D. 1L Thomson, of Invercargill, manager ol the team which is visiting Suva, was a guest at the meeting. Tho report and statement of accounts, a summary of which lias already been published, were adopted. It was decided that the inter-clul: pennant competition be conducted as at present. Several delegates paid a tribute tc the work of the centre’s greens advisory committeee. THE EASTER TOURNAMENT On the motion of Mr. Gladding it was decided that the system of play in the Christmas tournament remain as at present, but that in the Easter tournament only winners and those tying in section play go forward for inter-section play, such inter-section play to be on the sudden deatli principle. It was decided to support a suggestion from the Invercargill Centre, to be placed before the forthcoming Dominion conference, that Parliament be approached with a view to obtaining an extension of summer time for ont month, in order to include the Easter vacation. Hearty votes of thanks were accorded to Mr. Coldicutt, the retiring president, and to Mr. A. C-. Tonks, a retiring member of the executive committee. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. J. M. Thomson; immediate past-president, Mr. S. Coldicutt; vice-president, Mr. A. E. Whitten; secretary, Mr. G. L. Gladding; treasurer, Mr. A. H. Yeoman; auditor, Mr. F. E. Mason; executive committee, Messrs. H. C. Clarke, J. W. HardJey, J. P. Mason, J. Pascoe, T. R. Proctor, G. M. Reid, E. B. Wright and F.A. Hosking (country clubs’ representative).
