Popularity Campaign
A VOTE-GETTING WEEK
All contestants in The Sun’s campaign should be busy today calling on friends and collecting promises, as this is vote-getting week. Numerous contestants have secured promises of subscriptions in order to take advantage of the Special Bonus Offer which closes on July 5, and this week is the time to cash these promises. The big Extra Special Bonus Offer at this time gives 400,000 extra votes for each total of £lO turned in. Many contestants will make up one bonus, and some two or three. Every advantage taken at this time will mean a better prize at the finish. This campaign is like a horse race—the public of New Zealand represent the crowd in the grandstand. Everyone likes a winner. The boosting and the enthusiasm given by the crowd in the grandstand will help to encourage the leaders in the race.
Encouragement and compliments make the way easier, while “knockers" and pessimists make it harder. The contestants in calling on their friends meet both daily. Contestants are warned to pay no attention to “knockers” and “pessimists” who belittle the campaign; who tell the contestant that he or she has no chance to win; who say that this one or that one will receive special favours, extra privileges, tips, etc. This is a straightforward business proposition. Every safeguard and protection possible will be afforded to the contestants. Contestants, don’t be bluffed! Fix your goal of securing so many votes each day and reach that goal. If you do your best, your efforts are bound to be crowned with success. You have until noon. Saturday, July the sth, to take advantage of the biggest bonus offer for the balance of the campaign. At no other time in the campaign will you receive so many votes on totals of £lO in subscription money turned in. Materialise your promises of subscriptions this week, so that you can take advantage of this special 400,000 bonus offer. PRIZES ON DISPLAY ALL THIS WEEK For the benefit of all the contestants and their friends who did not have an opportunity to call at the Queen's Arcade last 'week and view the many valuable prizes which are on display —the show will be continued for the remainder of this week. One of the prizes which is attracting considerable interest is the New Zealand tour with all expenses paid for two people for a period of SO days.
