CLOAKED IN FOG

MAORI BATHER’S NOVEL COSTUME MAGISTRATE’S LITTLE JOKE Prom Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. Seen by a roadman running along the road at Whatawhata early this morning in the nude, Erihu Reti, a Maori, was charged in the Police Court today with indecent exposure. Accused said he was going down to the Waipa River for a dip and owing to the dense fog he omitted to don his usual bathing attire.

The magistrate accepted his explanation that the fog would be a sufficient cloak and convicted and discharged him.
