WATERFRONT ROAD
BIG UNDERTAKING NEARS COMPLETION WORK ON BRIDGES Good progress has been made with the waterfront road and it is rapidly I nearing completion. A start has been made with the balustrade which will run along the 1 harbour side of the l-oad. Many of j the concrete posts have been made i and spaced out along the footpath. These will soon be put into position. Xo. 1 bridge, near the Parnell Baths, will be open for traffic shortly. The approaches are being finished off and rolled. The surface of the bridge itself has been concreted and the boxing will soon be removed from flic balustrades. Work on Xo. 2 bridge is not so far forward, but the piles are all in position and work can go ahead practically without interruption. The road surface is excellent to Hobson Point and is rapidly being completed round as far as Mission Bat-. Wet weather has delayed the finishing work 10 some extent, but the j work generally is up to schedule.
