AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY

REMITS TO CONFERENCE CONTROL OF DEER Press Association. ELLINGTON, Thursday. The annual conference of the Royal Agricultural Society is being- held today. A remit that the protection on deer should, be withdrawn was amended to provide instead that private property should not be entered upon without the permission of the occupier, nor contiguous areas without the ling authority having given the adjoining occupiers reasonable warning. A discussion was raised on the country of origin of prize ribbon and it was decided that ribbon should be obtained from Britain. Information as to the possibilities of eradicating gorse by spraying with sodium chlorate was given by Dr. A. IT. Cockayne in response to a request. He was of the opinion that gorse would have first to be cut down ; and the young growth treated before spraying would be a success. \n address on rural credits was giv< n bv Mr. Snell, assistant commissioner of Rural Credits Board. He stated that the associations had done good work and others were being formed. It was hoped that there would be an everincreasing flow of capital to assist the farmer. If the scheme was soundly the investor would look upon rural securities as gilt-edged.
