STILL FESTERING

HEAVY FIGHTING ALONG CHINESE BORDERS'” PRESIDENT’S ATTACK PEKING, Thursday. Foreign telegrams confirm the report of the peaceful occupation of Tsinan by Shansi troops, following the withdrawal of Han Fuchu, the former Kuominchun general, eastward along the railway connecting Tsinan with the coast. Han Fuchu's future movements are uncertain, but the Chinese Press reports that he and Chen Tiaoyuan, a provincial Governor, intend to concentrate on Tsingtao, with the object of making that city the temporary capital of Shantung. Meanwhile heavy fighting is reported from Honan, where the President, Marshal Chiang Kai-shek, has launched another determined offensive along a front of 24 miles.
