45 DIE IN MUTINY

RANGOON GAOL SCENE OF BATTLE ARMOURY RAIDED United P.A.—By Telegraph Copyright DELHI, Wednesday. A serious mutiny in the central gaol at Rangoon resulted in tw r o warders, two military policemen, one lorry driver and 40 convicts being killed, and 60 convicts being injured. A party of Burmese and Indian prisoners, in accordance with an organised plot, overcame and killed two warders, raided the armoury and seized rifles and ammunition. The mutineers then manned the gaol walls and a two hours’ fight ensued with the military police. Finally the convicts were driven back into the building.
