MAN STRUCK BY CAR

INQUEST ADJOURNED

An inquest concerning the death of James Grierson, of 27A Ranfurly Road Epsom, opened before the coroner, Mr. P. K. Hunt, S.M., yesterday, was adjourned sine die after medical evidence had been heard. Mr. Grierson, a former school inspector, was knocked down by a car on May 23 and died on June 18. The driver of the car did not attend and will be required to be present when the inquest is reopened. Dr. C. J. C. Briton, of the Auckland Public Hospital, said that Grierson was admitted suffering from a broken left leg and arm. These would have been only trivial injuries for a healthy man, but Grierson was 77 years old and his health had been affected. He finally died through pneumonia.
