MR. JOHN McILRAITH
Mr. John Mcllraith, a well-known provision merchant of Willis Street, Wellington, was taken suddenly ill on Tuesday and died yesterday morning. Born in Scotland nearly 69 years ago, Mr. Mcllraith came to New Zealand with his parents in 1878. After settling in Canterbury and later at Denniston on the West Coast, the family took up residence at Wellington in 1897. MrTw. d 7 LYSAGHT The claims superintendent of the Auckland Transport Board, Mr. William Denis Lysaght, died at his home in Parle Crescent. Parnell, yesterday, at the age of 54. Born in Auckland, Mr. Lysaght was keenly interested in football and yachting as a young man. He joined the Tramway Company 35 years ago, remaining in the service when it was taken over by the City Council and later by the Transport Board. He was well known and respected in Auckland and was a popular officer of the service. He is survived by his wife. There is no family. MR. T. G. GILBERT The death has occurred in Wellington of Mr. T. G. Gilbert, of the Agricultural Department. Born in Kaiapoi, Mr. Gilbert joined the service in 1896 as a cadet in the Education Department, rising to the position of accountant from which he was promoted to the position of district public trustee at Masterton. Later he was transferred to the head office of the Public Trust. Wellington, and was later appointed accountant in the Agricultural Department. MISS MARY SNODGRASS An old and respected resident of Paeroa, Miss Mary Snodgrass, died on Saturday. She was born in Auckland 70 years ago, and went to Thames shortly after the opening of the goldfields. After spending a few years there she went to Paeroa. She leaves a, sister, Mrs. C. H.
