Dance Evening
MUNICIPAL OFFICERS’ SOCIAL CLUB ARRANGES PLEASANT FUNCTION.
MUSICAL PROGRAMME The Auckland Municipal Officers’ Social Club held its first function of the year in the Town Hall concert chamber last evening. Bamboo and flax foliage, with, small flowering pot plants, decorated the ! stage, and overhead was a canopy of blue and white streamers. Tables were arranged on both sides ; of the hall for those who preferred * cards A delightful programme of musical items and a comedy sketch, “Between ■ the Soup and the Savoury/’ was inter- j spersed in the dances. Taking part in ! the play were: Aliss H. K. Christie • and Aliss AI. Davev, and musical items ; •were given by Air. L. O'Alalley and | Air. X. Walker. SURPRISE FOR LEAGUE TEAM MANAGER
A very enjoyable surprise dance and social evening was given at the Navy League Hall, Devonport, on Monday evening in honour of Mr, A. Fergu§j?.n, who is leaving
for Australia shortly as financial I manager of the New Zealand League team. During the evening, Air. R. Doble, on behalf of those present, presented Air. Ferguson with a gladstone bag. The guests were entertained with dancing, interspersed with musical items given by Mrs. Frater, Air. Gordon Shand, Air. E. Johnston and Air. F. Procter. Dance music was played by Mrs. Frater and Air.
