PLEASED ABOUT IT
ENGLAND CLAIMS TO LEAD WORLD IN SPORT NEWSPAPER CONGRATULATIONS LONDON, Monday. The “Morning Post” says England has taught the w r orld how to play in the intervals between work, but she cannot expect to hold all the world championships and must not be disheartened if Bobby Jones, Walter Lindrum and other virtuosos win in individualistic pastimes which have become whole-time jobs. England is more than holding her own in great team games, says the paper. The glorious victory for British Rugby in New Zealand Is especially pleasing in view of the fact that Sobey is laid aside owing to his injury. The All Blacks were only beaten after a thrilling game by the narrowest of margins, but it was a game which was a real test of the virility of the British race.
