Reakes, Director-General of Agriculture, is inspecting the Agricultural Department’s operations on the pumice country in the Rotorua district. Mr. E. 11. Sharp and Mr. A. C. A. Sexton left for Wellington last evening. They will attend the Dominion 00nf<*rence of the Ne vv Zealand lto - turned Soldiers* Association. Mr. G. W. Wild, B.Ag., instructor in agriculture, who has resigned from the Department of Agriculture, Invercargill, to take up farming in the Waikato district, was presented by his fellow-officers with a silver tea-set. Mr. K. B. Tennent, fields superintendent, Dunedin, who is in charge of the Otago - Southland district, referred to the great loss the department was suffering in the departure of Mr. Wild.
