MR. FORBES WELCOMED
PRIME MINISTER’S VISIT TO CHEVIOT ENTHUSIASTIC CROWD * Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. At Cheviot last evening a largelyattended and enthusiastic social was given in honour of the Prime Minister, the Hon. G. W. Forbes, and Mrs. Forbes. During the proceedings one of the original Cheviot settlers. Mr. T. H. Wilkinson, presented Mr. Forbes, on behalf of the country residents, with an illuminated .address in which the goodwill of his constituents found expression. Mr. Forbes, who has been member for the district for 22 years, was given a remarkable reception. So great was the influx of visitors that accommodation in the township was at a premium and some people had to use motorcars for resting places for the night.
