ELLERSLIE BOWLING CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING HELD The 20tli annual meeting of the Ellerslie Bowling Club was presided over by the president, Mr. A. J. Cappins. The annual report showed the club had enjoyed a very' successful season and with the greens in perfect order the club could look forward to another good year. During the season improvements were made to the pavilion due to the energy and enthusiasm of some of the members. The* election of officers resulted as follows:—Patron, Mr. W. J. Jordon, M.P.; president, Mr. A. J. Cappins; vice-presidents, Messrs. J. McKolvie, W. Watson, J. White; bon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. Williams: general commitee, Messrs. F. J. Hardwicke, H. Hay. G. Wood, Foyle. F. Fykes. H. L .Toll: match committee. Messrs. J. McKelvie, W. Watson. W. Williams. A. C Hill II- R- McKenzie, A. J. Cappins: auditor. -Mr. J. McKelvie; umpire aud coach. Mr. AV. Low; reporter, IT. 1U Joll; delegates to Auckland Lentre. J president and secretary. PAPATOETOE CLUB ; Mr J. Franklin, president of tho Papatoetoe Bowline Club. presided over a large attendance of members at the sixteenth annual meeting of the club, held in the pavilion last evening. The annual report showed the membership of the club to be 74. Reference was made to the success of the rink which competed in and won the Cambridge tourney, this being the second occasion in three years tnat the club has gained the distinction of winning these honours. The Gilmour Cup. competed for the Ho wick and Papatoetoe Clubs, was again won by the latter, i It was with extreme regret that the death of Mr. George Hosking was recorded. The balance sheet showed the revenue for the year totalled 12s 6d. It was decided to appoint a green superintendent in place of the grounds I eommitte. A unanimous \ oto of appreciation was accorded to Mr. J. j Cowling, in recognition of his faithful j service to the club as green su|>erintenI dent. On the proposal of Mr. R- P. ! Hill, it was agreed to compete in the Auckland Centre pennant competi- ; Lions. It was decided that it be a. i recommendation to the match com - ! mittee that eight inter-club matches be I arranged during the season. { a vote of appreciation was accorded ; Mi. J.
