SAMPSON HEADS LIST The liberal prize money, £5,900, given by the Auckland Trotting Club for its winter fixture, which concluded yesterday, was well distributed, and while Auckland provincial owners secured a good share of the spoils, several visitors secured useful cheques. Auckland ow iers altogether secured £3,777 10s, while those in other North Island provinces collected £827 10s. To the South Island went £1,385. Through the agency of Florent, Mr. C. E. Sampson “topped the poll*’ with £675, while Miss Hinds, of Canterbury, the fortunate owner of the speed merchant, Harold Logan, received a substantial cheque of £525, as well as the handsome gold cup, valued at 100 guineas, donated by Mrs. Adams. The Wellington owner-trainer, L. O. Thomas, with Blue and Gold and Genuine, came next with £567 10s, while £ 335 went to the Dunedin sportsman, Mr. G. Barton. whose horses.
